Tarot

No one can be sure where the Tarot came from. The symbols and imagery date back as far as ancient Egypt and beyond. Tarot cards have also been found in the Middle East and Europe.

Within the symbology of different cards you can find links with everything from Astrology, Numerology and indeed Christianity. One particular deck is said to have many secret Masonic rituals hidden in plain sight. Interesting perhaps, but not important. You don’t need an understanding of any of these subjects to use the cards. You also can happily do so without following or believing in any of these areas.

I believe the cards are a tool to access our own intuition. Some of the most eminent psychiatrist and psychologists believe in a kind of universal consciousness. A vast pool of knowledge, if you will, that in the right circumstances and conditions people, and sometimes animals draw on, perhaps forming a link to a higher place and somehow accessing information that in the normal run of things isn’t available.
I believe that the tarot is merely a tool, nothing sacred or special. They either help you to access your own intuition or psychic ability or perhaps give access to this pool of universal knowledge. It matters; I feel not, one iota what you personally believe. Tarot can work.

For the more sceptical, let’s say that at the very least you may accept that they could help form a link between your conscious (your reality right now) and your sub-conscious unconscious (your reality that is going on right now but of which you are unaware)

In Ontario, there is a sacred site called ‘Kinomagewapkong’, ‘the rock’s that teach’.

The phenomena of eerie noises are to be heard from the rock in springtime, caused by the naturally occurring holes in the rocks. The natives felt this noise was the underworld whispering to them.

There are some 900 images carved into a huge outcrop of crystalline white limestone. They date back to the Algonquain people, somewhere between 900-1400 AD Many of the figures have a radiant halo or Aura (ENERGY FIELD) crowning the heads. Many of the figures are of animals. Many of the Images of people also have stars emanating from their heads! Animal spirits and guides were a very important part of the cultural and belief system.

I had the ‘Honour’ (and yes it was!) of talking to a Native American Shaman named ‘Light Wolf’. He explained in depth about ‘animals that visit our dreams’, and the omens and visions that they are said to bring. He also said much about clouds and natural omens.

The Native Americans, in common with the Aborigines of Australia would use ‘relaxing’ substances to induce “ THE DREAM TIME”, with the hope of gaining incite and prophecies, foretelling the future for, them selves and the world around. Some fascinating tales and beliefs exist within the culture of the Native Americans.  Why not chase your own ‘tail’, and find one that captures you! There are easier (and healthier) ways of getting in the correct state to explore your psychic ability, you don’t have to get drunk…try a meditation instead.
