Zodiac
The Zodiac
Westernized Astrology developed way
back, at approximately 500 BC, with the conception called the Zodiac
was formulated. This constituted an imaginary sphere encompassing the
earth, which journeyed along the path of the Sun through the
constellations during the year. The Zodiac was divided into twelve
sections, all named after the specific constellation noted in that
expanse.
Elements Factors
Many ancient philosophical systems applied a set of classical
components to explain the way nature comported. All signs are related
to one of the classical elements (fire, earth, air, or water) and was
also associated a realm of focus; cultural, personal or universal.
Water signs are affiliated to the growth processes, recognition and
emotion. In tandem with the additional elements, water feels that fire
will cause it to boil, air will vaporize it, but earth will contour and
channel it.
Fire signs are affiliated with action, passion, and energy. In
conjunction with the additional elements, fire senses that earth will
asphyxiate it, water will overwhelm it, but air will fan and invigorate
it.
Air signs are associated with thought, perspective and
communicating. In tandem with the additional elements, air dreads that
water will blur it, earth will choke it, but fire will exalt and uplift
it.
Earth signs are affiliated sensory faculty, constancy, and
practicality. In correlation with the other elements, earth fears that
air will parch it, fire will dry it, but water will freshen and nourish
it.
Modes
Each sign is connected to or among three modalities; cardinal (sometimes referred to as transferable), fixed, and mutable.
There are four quadrants coming after the order of the zodiacal
signs, with three signs in each. Each quadrant distinguishes a season,
beginning with a fundamental sign, continuing to a fixed sign, and
terminating with a mutable sign.
