Sacred Symbols

Many cultures use symbols as talismans (or good luck charms)  to achieve, protection, or develop Psychic ability, or to symbolise the character traits they represent if worn. Does your personality or luck need a make over? Or may you benefit from a talisman of your own? This ancient use of talisman can still be seen today with the symbol invoked by the police for example, they use them extensively on there cars, offices and even on their credentials or police badges and ID. Maybe it gives them some kind of feeling of inner strength or protection when they invoke these symbols of power? Think about it…eye-sacred-symbol

Egyptian magical practice and beliefs (not to be confused with Wicca) is centred on nine main magical benevolent gods. It is believed that if you wear, draw, meditate, call upon or carry their symbols (or lucky charms) that the abundant power of the universe can be harnessed and used to your advantage. Carved stones were often used for many reasons, and I believe many cultures use stone to represent male and female. Even the Pagan stone phallic is said to represent both male and female, this fact is much misunderstood. The phallic symbol is obvious but the stone is less so. Stone represents something solid and ancient such as the female role in the life cycle of birth and re-birth. The other theory is that any charm or talisman may help to give you focus and confidence, enabling you to achieve your goals yourself.

So are they magic? Who can say but I personally find the images powerful and on viewing them find I can without much effort reach an almost instant state of meditation. Try them for yourself. Don’t be too rigid or fussy in how you make your talisman, as I was once told; “The tools do not the magic make”

“A shiver looked for my spine to run up.”

Harold Wilson.

Silly to use a symbol to give you courage, strength or to help keep you motivated toward some chosen goal or change you desire? Is it any more odd than priests or monks wearing robes, or policemen wearing a uniform to remind them of who they are and what they stand for, and also to command a certain respect for these chosen paths from the general public…plus confidence and faith in who and what they are, or are becoming…

Well if you would like a solid real symbol that will focus you and keep you to your goals, it may be easier to choose a symbol (Anything of your choosing, from a shell to a favourite piece of jewelry) you can wear around your neck, or place in your pocket, rather than float around dressed as wonder woman or superman to represent the transformation that you would like to make.
